October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

One in three women is the victim of domestic violence once in their lifetime. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month — a good time for all organizations that support domestic abuse victims to bring this serious issue to light.

Why Women Rising Above Abuse?

I started Women Rising Above Abuse because I know our community is in need of it.  As a child, I was molested and raped. During that time of my life I had no outlet, nor was there any program that we knew of that could help me through those trying times.  I wanted to be delivered and healed from those past hurts, yet I found myself in emotionally and physically abusive relationships as time went on. https://womenrisingaboveabuse.org/about-wraa/

From Victims to Agents of Change: How Empowerment Helps

Women who survive abuse and domestic violence often feel broken and scarred. Domestic violence impacts a woman both emotionally and physically. As a non-profit organization for empowering women, we are working to empower such domestically abuse women and girls with the belief that they will, in turn, one day make a change in her life and in the society.

Organization for Empowering Women to Support Domestic Abuse Victims

Most people don’t realize how common it is, because very often victims of abuse keep quiet. You are not responsible for the violence. Nor are you alone. The alternative is to seek protection from non-profit organizations that support and empower women. https://womenrisingaboveabuse.org/services/organization-for-empowering-women-to-support-domestic-abuse-victims/
